Also, in *my* opinion, Pogacar too rarely uses his position to speak up for rider safety. I've been butchered for that opinion before, but honestly, here he even actively speaks against it - and no one even asked him this time. I don't know why he feels the need to say this, but it's really odd imo

Also, even in salary cap leagues richer teams can spend money elsewhere- we’d likely see more competition on nutrition, tt tech, altitude camps and team facilities being spent instead. Even in a salary cap sports league, there are haves and have nots, unfortunately.

Obviously they’d have to have a much more robust discretionary budget for bonuses, and tbh should be given more space team to team to give them out. But a base salary mandated across the WT and WWT would really put cycling at the forefront of international sport on that sort of issue.
