If the northern lights are able to be seen in Maryland again tonight... viewing conditions should improve as the evening progresses. Clouds are densest north of I-70, on into northeast Maryland early this evening.

Wind-whipped snow showers are making it well into the south with this cold blast. Nashville, Atlanta, northern Alabama have all seen some flakes.

Rain gradually slides eastward as colder air blows in. We'll wake up to 30s & 40s, with a gusty breeze in the morning. Grab a coat!

Line of brief heavy rain and a few storms is developing west of Baltimore. A broken line of showers and storms will sweep through the metro this evening. Have a 'plan b' for outdoor plans.

First significant up-slope snow event of the season gets underway tonight in far-western Maryland. Plowable snow coming for the higher elevations of western Garrett County.

In the Baltimore metro? Flurries possible.

Sunday won't be a washout. But, there will be rain around at times. There are two spikes in the chance of rain.

6 a.m. to 11 a.m. or so
3 p.m. to 12 a.m. or so

It won't rain constantly. Scattered showers are most likely during those times. A few storms are also possible.

Gusty winds spreading into the immediate metro. A new Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for much of the immediate Baltimore metro until 10:15 PM. Brief light rain, gusty winds are moving through.

Line of gusty showers that has produced 50-65 MPH wind gusts is moving southeast. Gustier winds will spread into Carroll County and eventually into Baltimore County (likely will produce 40-50 MPH gusts).
