Current project: CrossPaint - A native NES paint program
I sometimes like hearing how my NES tracks sound when switched to PAL without the driver auto-adjusting the tempo and pitch. It often adds quite a bit of melancholy.

Unfortunately, melodic DPCM doesn't pitch down with the rest of the APU channels, so I have to disable the DMC in those instances :(

I've also decided to fully scrap the X-SCROLL parameter, as it just caused confusion with the rest of the UI and was too complicated to use in an art workflow.

The CHR Fill tool now also disables sprites and emphasis

UI / UX design question for CrossPaint:

Should tools with multiple subtools to have their indices start at 0 or 1? Which makes more sense from a general user perspective?

If I started indices at 1, it would exactly describe the pen size in pixels.🤔

It turns out if I just preloaded the A X and Y registers before each set of 4 midframe palette writes, I could have cleanly hidden all visual errors within hBlank on both NTSC and PAL🤦‍♂️

I updated CrossPaint's Settings menu a bit. I realized it would probably be a good idea to be able to *opt-out* of autosaving to further reduce wear on the cartridge's flash memory.

I think this layout looks nicer overall :)

Here's an oldskool fire effect. I think enabling BG priority for enemies looks really neat here!
