Talking to myself about movies, politics, and the Arizona Diamondbacks
I also have seen The Ataris! I would have seen Green Day but that was the semester I broke my ankles and my college friends couldn't figure out how to get me and my wheelchair through a show.

48th movie of 2025: Rental Family.

An appealing dramady about the human need for connection and the way that can help or hurt. Immensely likeable film. Also gotta say I was a big fan of Brendan Frasier's wardrobe of soft sweaters and sports coats. He looked like a warm hug.

47th movie of 2025: Predator: Badlands.

My first Predator movie (I KNOW)! Are they all like this cause that was great. Proof of what happens when you put the money on the screen and make something that just looks terrific. One grump, one sunshine remains an elite pairing.

46th movie of 2025: The Running Man.

If I had a nickel for every movie I saw this year based on a Stephen King story about deadly game shows in a dystopian society, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it is weird it happened twice. The other one, The Long Walk, is better.

45th movie of 2025: Now You See Me: Now You Don't. Magicians doing heists is all that's required. Now with more magicians. You can tell the difference from prior entries in the 2010s to this one. We now need a fight scene every 20 minutes (not easy in a movie about magicians) and a sequel tease.

There are people who don't like Wimbledon? It's a banger. Terrific cast, great chemistry between the leads, funny, delivers on sports and romance. Does what it says on the tin: is a good time at a movie just to have a good time at a movie.

I guess If Wimbledon has no defenders, I am dead.
