I guess we're fellow dystopian writers! God Machine is a hard sci fi dystopia. Threnna is more in line a populist dystopia soft-medium sci fi.

It wasn't supposed to be such a huge jump! I was thinking MAYBE at the most God Machine draft 2 will be 115k max but it ended up being 136k lol.
Threnna is what my novella is called atm actually! So far I'm enjoying it. Fleshbound are basically space vampires born like caterpillars 🐛

I'm hoping for a spring release. But it all depends on me lol. I have about 5 chapters left to write and then I'm gonna send it off to my readers and my editor. I still don't have a cover yet.

Cyberspace is very painful. You don't just put on a helmet and you're in. You insert cables into your skin and you are hooked into a machine. You then need to be injected with nanofluid so that when you're in cyberspace you are code (and also decreases your anxiety).

You'll probably like it. The first draft was much more Deus Ex-y. Way more cyberpunk. Then the second draft became its own thing. It's still influenced by Deus Ex but it's more of a biopunk than a cyberpunk. More flesh-aug and nano vs mechanical augmentations.

Nope! I actually didn't know there were multiple "God Machines" until well into my second draft 😂
It's influenced more by current events and some of my favorite sci fis like Le Guin, Atwood, Blade Runner, Matrix, and a video game called "Deus Ex".
