Like I don't think wavy hair is real. At least how we commonly think of. In the scientific literature when they say waves they mean literal flat waves, which are usually only present in specific populations. Wavy hair is just a looser form of the coil/spring shape in curly hair.

Film forming humectants are great at this! Flax seed gel, which you can make at home or buy from Ecoslay or Mirabel Naturals is one of my favs. Ouidad heat and humidity is another one that a lot of people swear by though I could never get it to work for my hair.
