As part of the Growing Edge training we share the #StigmaKills video. The group in Romania 🇷🇴 shared the powerful impact this had on them and we discussed how this is linked to shame, blame, trauma and addiction.

Gambling companies in Britain could be forced to overhaul their advertising practices after a betting firm was ruled to have unlawfully targeted a problem gambler who was bombarded with more than 1,300 marketing emails.

Since working with some amazing colleagues, being part of establishing the #NHS gambling harms clinics network, I have become increasingly worried about the speed at which problems can escalate for people.

This treats problem gambling, like other addictions and obesity, as the result of poor choices by individuals, rather than as the predictable result of an environment in which people are encouraged to adopt risky habits.
