By betraying his voters so comprehensively and so soon, Keir Starmer has done us a favour. He has given us 4 years to design the government we want.
In this week's column I explain how it can be done. There's massive
potential, but we need to start now. 🧵

Water profiteers are clinging to a broken system that lines their pockets while polluting our rivers and making us pay for their failures.

But we can change course. A publicly owned water system would serve people and planet - not profit.

82% of the public want to see water back in public hands.

Rachel Reeves is not only ignoring us, she's threatening to bankrupt a government department if they don't push through another private equity takeover of Thames Water.

Going tough on immigration isn’t working. Instead, we must offer real solutions to falling living standards and growing inequality.

Some takeaways from the election losses, in the sincere hope that this will be a period of genuine reflection for our party:

We should see the social security system as a thermometer, taking the temperature of the labour market, health care system, housing market and social services.

16 million customers now face 59% price hikes to pay for Thames' mountain of debt. We'll put them out of business instead.
