Yes, it’s a bit early, but…it’s one of the best modern Christmas films! Sparkle and shine ✨ 😀

Absolutely! I’ve had treatments I’d never heard of before. The team at Addenbrookes have been great.

Yes, it’s been a tough few months and it’s ongoing as I have dialysis 3 times a week now until I can have a transplant. Have just tried to be as positive as I can throughout though, as I just have to get on with it!

Keep meaning to go to Saffron Walden, so will have a look for the maze when I finally get there!

It’s really tricky when these building need constant maintenance and repair, isn’t it…but I guess we all just have to do our best to find the most suitable alternative if needs be.

Should have said - only when necessary. The silver bed is better for carving and can have more longevity, but there wasn’t much available so Caen was used if required. Hopefully the new source found is plentiful!

There was already a v short supply of the best quality stone. There are 2 main types of the Lincoln limestone…red bed and silver bed…the silver is finer whereas the red has more inclusions. The Cathedral - and us for some of the work - used Caen stone as the best geological and aesthetic match.

We worked with the Cathedral & Mike Ashton when sourcing stone for the repairs at Lincoln Medieval Bishops’ Palace. We managed to secure some of the last stone available before the quarry closed. Great a new source has been found locally…not as easy as it sounds as most had been exhausted already.
