@jeffgeerling.com are you doing a video on anything related to the valve hardware soon? I’d love to see your thoughts on FEX emu and what it could mean for ARM

I’m tired of node. Can we get a native ts runtime with threading? Bonus points for figuring out how we can stop having the event loop lol

@russfrushtick.bsky.social Is The Besties tied to polygon in anyway, legally speaking?

Just used container queries for the first time in production. What a time to be alive, css is almost fun again.

I've just found the best hack. Swear in your search request. It's a great way to bypass the AI summary and make your search history look like you're chronically pissed off at everything!

Intelligence is making tickets and putting them on the backlog.
Wisdom is understanding that tickets seldom survive the backlog.

I desperately need a trump and elon free space for lighthearted content. I’m already so over this

I "learned" webdev through rails a long time ago, and have been a convenience over configuration guy since then. @biomejs.dev is great for this - no need to have opinions, the defaults are great!

Third repo this week migrated from eslint / prettier to biome. Is this love?

Another day, another recommendation to do pnpm workspaces instead of lerna

Does anyone know if there's a flag for `next build` to skip SSG? We run build on PRs and generating the static pages feels really unnecessary at that point.

@leerob.com on the off-chance that you respond to random tags :D

As traditional as advent of code is the early drop off. Xmas stress is back!

I wonder how my registrars of choice, gandi and @porkbun.com, would've dealt with a takedown notice like this...
itch.io itch.io @itch.io · Dec 9
I kid you not, @itch.io has been taken down by Funko of "Funko Pop" because they use some trash "AI Powered" Brand Protection Software called Brand Shield that created some bogus Phishing report to our registrar, iwantmyname, who ignored our response and just disabled the domain

Honestly, a heavy crawl makes me proud of how far our main nextjs service has come in a year. We've more than quadrupled the req/s/pod since I joined!

I really feel like we've got a pretty deep understanding of what the bottlenecks are when primarily doing SSR (and huge pages)

Hello to the random botnet that started crawling all of storytel.com all of a sudden 👋

Confession: I don't like MSW and the test setups I've seen with it are almost always pretty confusing.

I've observed some engineers no longer dumbing down technical explanations with close non-tech stakeholders. It seems to be a good thing???

For the first time in many years I beat my estimate for how long something takes to do. Look at me, I am the 10x:er now.

It's done. Now it’s your turn, Oracle.

We’ve submitted a formal petition to cancel the JavaScript trademark: it is generic, Oracle has abandoned it, and Oracle committed fraud on the USPTO during the last trademark renewal.

It's time to #FreeJavaScript.

Deno v. Oracle: Canceling the JavaScript Trademark
Oracle is holding the JavaScript trademark hostage, and we’re pursuing legal means to #FreeJavaScript. Here’s a brief update.
