One year ago today, Emma and I packed up a few bags and our kitties and moved from Ypsilanti, Michigan to Leipzig, Germany.

It wasn’t easy,
Leaving my home, friends, and family was heartbreaking,
And I’m still not entirely comfy yet,

But we found that “fertile soil” and I’m so grateful to be here.
