I demand Muppet Brothers Karamazov. I even have the part of the casting worked out:

Gonzo is Alexei

Kermit is Ivan

Pepe is Dmitri

Willem Dafoe is Fyodor

Miss Piggy is Grushenka

Camilla the Chicken is Liza

Sam the Eagle is Father Ferapont
Defund the CIA and use the money to make more Muppet retellings of classic literature
production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like “ratings” or “revenue.” it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA

Less than a couple minutes into CBC Gem coverage of the Olympic opening ceremony and they start playing ads in the middle of the performance...

What the hell CBC? Like, at least let us watch more than like 30 seconds before interrupting a LIVE event with ads.

I deeply hope Labour tosses Starmer and does some real soul searching to reach the (massively obvious to everyone else) conclusion that they need to be more progressive and that they can't outcompete reform on the right.

But the more likely scenario is those dopes pick their own Kemi Badenoch-type.

Remember when Sylvain actively antagonized the Loblaws-boycott group because "how dare the peasants complain about food costs"?

Also was expelled from RMC for running a MLM scheme, and lost a deanship due to multiple harrassment complaints against him at Dalhousie.

He is not a credible academic.
Here is my latest. Sylvain Charlebois, Canada's beloved commentator on the food industry, thinks that not giving us access to raw milk is communism.

The more you learn... Now I know why that pompous bourgeois professor Charlebois is always featured on the news as a huckster of business-propaganda and general whinger.

Dalhousie University loses more respect every day that they continue to employ that bought-and-paid-for cretinous crybully.
If you failed, you'd get yelled at. The stress was unbelievable. You quickly learn who is ALWAYS available.

Ian Lee, for example, was ALWAYS available. To the point that it was kind of a running joke.

Sylvain Charlebois? Constantly pitching himself in our inboxes, always ready to hop on camera.

Can't stop thinking about our huge neighbour and trade partner sliding into Fascism, run by a cabal of pedophiles that have deep political influence and control across the world and it feels like a neverending hopeless idiot doom spiral.

And then you have to go back to document review and emailing.
Minimizing the window where I read about how our world is a joke and we're at the mercy of megalomaniacal evil perverts. Logging on to the work zoom. "Heyyyy I'm good! How are you?"

Agus is Jeff Bezos cumasóir faisisteachais.
Chealaigh mé Amazon Prime inniu mar ní féidir liom a bheith ag féachaint rud amháin nua saor in aisce.

Cén fáth íocaim agus go tobann tar éis sin, caithfidh mé íoc le gach sraith nó scannán?

Is fearr a bheith ag féachaint TG4 agus píoráideacht anois i 2026.

I’m so angry. I’m so tired of people in global positions of power and wealth hoarders upholding them. They want us to accept mass slaughter in Gaza. They want us to accept the MURDER of people who stick up to them. They want us to accept disgusting wealth gaps while we fight for scraps. Enough!!!!

State of the world got me tweaking so much that I've genuinely considered reverting from lifelong Atheism back to Catholicism so that when 'it' happens I can believe he's on the express train to hell.

But there is at least solace in that orange becoming a mouldering corpse.

Notice how neither Denmark or Greenland are included in this agreement to make a 'deal'. It's just Rutte and Trump. This announcement conveniently excludes statements other than what Trump spews out his ass.

What happens to this deal when Denmark and Greenland governments tell Trump to get bent?
BREAKING: Trump says he reached a Greenland deal "framework" with NATO allies and will walk back tariffs that had previously been set to go into effect on Feb 1.
Trump says he won’t impose tariffs after reaching Greenland deal ‘framework’
The deal eases tensions over control of Greenland, which Trump has aggressively sought to wrest control of from Denmark.

If making precise sense out of Trump's words is a fool's errand (which, it is), you should look at other things like Trump's history of being completely dishonest and that he gravitate towards violence as a solution. It's reasonable to say that Trump talking about violence like this is a threat.

Queue the panic later today or tomorrow in the media when *shocker* Trump in fact, did not mean it when he "ruled out" using force.

It's exhausting for the media to constantly sanewash and then immediately backtrack every single day with this orange dementia patient.
it's bizarre to see both CNN and CNBC run with chyrons reporting that Trump said he won't "use force" to take Greenland, when the comments in question were clearly a threat to take Greenland by force. How naive are we at this point?

I used to work in a retirement home during the pandemic and this is exactly the sort of slow, confused, tired and rambling speech of the residents with Alzheimers and significantly progressed dementia.

The president is not well and without a teleprompter, he'd probably be totally lost.
the room is so silent for Trump's lie-fest in Davos that you could hear someone fart

I wonder if the council chose AI slop to save money, and if they realize that this is going to be immediately/repeatedly vandalized because no one will respect it or care to protect it. They will spend more in upkeep/repainting than they would have ever spent paying a real (preferably local) artist.
NEW: Glasgow City Council has just approved a massive AI-generated mural to be painted in the city centre.

The illustration of Scottish elements inexplicably contains a bald eagle.

The planner says those upset about it are "keyboard warriors" who should "calm down"

It is also eerily similar to what Hans Landa does in the opening moments of Inglorious Basterds which establishes him as a deeply sadistic, fundamentally evil person and a psychopathic Nazi.

What these officers did was textbook on how to establish a person as profoundly evil and cruel.
it’s one of those fundamentally cursed hospitality violations that you read about in ancient texts
The more I think about this, the angrier I get. It takes a particularly virulent strain of sociopathy to sit and let hard-working people serve you a meal knowing that you plan to arrest them and send them off for deportation once they're off of work.

Really depraved shit.

I really wish Europe would look back into it's own recent history to see why the appeasement of a fascist strongman has never, and will never work.

Any EU leaders that delude themselves into actually considering a deal over Greenland must recognize that US fascist imperialism will not stop there...

Níl ciall agat fiú do bhróga a chaitheamh.

Not sure what context anyone was missing from his comments last week. He literally co-opted the "guns don't kill people" argument, but for CSAM and AI generated revenge porn.
After arguing last week that X is not responsible for the child sexual abuse images being generated by Grok, Minister Patrick O Donovan claims his comments were taken out of context.
