I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.
18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

What’s is like to immigrate to another country? Today we were welcomed at a family restaurant, ordered fresh fish, and ate outside on the patio. A man in his 70s sat down and tried to engage with us. I listened intently wishing I could understand him better and engage more.
