Wow, looks like dominoes are falling rather quickly. Tucker to the Dodgers was a stunner when it looked like he would either be a Met or Blue Jay. Then, the Mets seemingly nab Bichette from signing with the Phillies. I suspect the next domino will be Realmuto back to Philadelphia. #MLB

Does the fact that the 49ers are 4-1 under Mac Jones change any opinions about Brock Purdy? Perhaps Purdy is a product of the organization rather than the other way around?

In case you missed it last night, Shohei Ohtani had THE single best game in baseball history. 3-for-3 with three home runs (one completely out of the stadium.) Six shutout innings of two hit, strikeouts to get the series clinching win. Wow. Just, wow!

Rangers feel like they are close to being a playoff team but they have too many injury-prone players. And they will need to tighten their bullpen. A rotation lead by a healthy DeGrom and Eovaldi would make them a serious threat.

Astros need to find some more bats. They are too reliant on game changing presence of Alvarez. Altuve is showing decline and the losses of Bregman and Tucker became glaring weaknesses. A couple of big time bats at corner infield or outfield spots would help along with re-signing Valdez.

Seemingly no explanation for the Mets collapse. They were simply bad the second half of the season. Pitching underachieved and offense was inconsistent despite the numbers put up by Lindor, Soto and Alonso. Young pitchers offer some hope for the future. Keeping Alonso and Diaz is a must.

Teams need to have a Plan B (and Plan C, and D…) because injuries are a huge part of baseball today. The Dodgers practically lost an entire starting rotation. The Yankees lost their ace for the entire season. Guardians had two potential closers suspended. Yet all three teams surged down the stretch.
September 29, 2025 at 1:34 PM
Reds take the final NLWC spot that it looked like no one wanted. Mets collapse was long and emphatic. Can say the same about the Astros collapse in the AL West, except the Mariners surged and took command in the final month.

Wow, what night of baseball. Guardians play small ball to take the lead in the AL Central. Yankees take advantage of White Sox pen to rally in the ninth. Mets and Diamondbacks with huge comeback victories. The postseason mess is even more muddled.

Everyone has six games left to play in the regular season and there is still a lot of intrigue in both league. The three team Wild Card format has certainly kept things interesting for a lot of teams.

What a crazy final week we have ahead of us. The Reds have taken control of the final NLWC spot. Tied with the Mets but Cincy holds the tiebreaker. The Guardians have planted themselves in position to make the postseason as they are a game behind Detroit for the division and a half game out of WC.

With a favorable schedule down the stretch, the Yankees suddenly seem to be a legitimate threat to catch Toronto in the AL East. #MLBplayoffs

Would be nice to see at least one more magic moment from Clayton Kershaw before he steps away from the game. He was a true model of consistency for a long time before injuries limited him. But his career numbers are elite and put him along side the all-time greats. #MLBplayoffs

Astros hold a half-game lead over the Mariners heading into their critical head-to-head series in Houston this weekend. The loss of Yordan Alvarez is significant, but the Astros have seemingly been up against it all season. Should be three thrillers.

The #Mets have a game-and-a-half lead for the last NL Wild Card spot with ten games left to play. Six of those ten games are likely to be started by the rookie trio of McLean, Sproat, and Tong.

Huge week upcoming for the Astros. They host the Rangers for three then host the Mariners for three over the weekend. Current standings has the Mariners one game up on the Astros in AL West while ‘Stros are two games up on Rangers for final WC spot.

Nolan McLean was clearly up to the task and is clearly the ace of the Mets staff at this point. After six starts, his ERA is 1.08. He has been dominant. #MLBplayoffs

In what is likely their most important game of the season, the Mets have rookie sensation Nolan McLean on the mound. Another challenge to see what the kids is made of. #MLB
