Book 11: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson. Really not all that different than “The Let Them Theory” from above, but I’d say that this one is better written and a more enjoyable read.

(In my head I initially thought the author was Marc Maron, feels like it works both ways)

Was confronted by an orange on my walk. Paid the toll of 72 scritches.

I have gotten 5 fundraising texts from Janet Mills today alone. (And have immediately blocked everyone, yet they persist - all different numbers). If anything, this tells me you don’t understand the current media environment and are just going to pay consultants to run a campaign with poor outreach

Book 10: Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson (middle trilogy in the Mistborn series).

Mostly excited for how this seems to set-up the next book with some bigger foes and ideas. 2nd half of the book was really fun.

Book 9: The Sirens’ Call by @chrislhayes.bsky.social. I really wish there was a way for everyone to understand the message of this book because I think it’s a fundamental tenet for *gestures at everything*

Thinking of attention as a quantifiable/limited resource and not just a skill or general idea

Our 14 team FF league only has 4 bench spots, meaning I am going to have sacrifice my incredibly sophomoric team name unless Kirk, London, or a mystery 3rd player are ruled out for Week 2, so I can pick up a kicker.

Typed this up last night but didn’t feel like editing it down to fit in the character limit.

(I do really wonder what percent of adults know how many Supreme Court justices there are)

Have I moved past caring about pre-season football? Yes. Does knowing that Trey Lance will likely get multiple series pull me right back in? Also yes.

Most importantly I see you have chosen the correct R Studio color scheme

This shouldn't surprise anyone, but Austin and San Jose just played another ridiculous game (with Austin stealing it in PKs). STU is a beast.

Book 7: Rejection by Tony Tulathimutte. Absolutely insane. Terminally online. Graphically sexual. I give it my highest recommendation.

The fact that you are on Bluesky means you will get this book. The fact that you are on Bluesky means you will likely find something to hate with this book.

Book 6: Abundance by Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson. I’m hopeful that politicians and future leaders will adopt more of this mindset because I think it’s imperative that we come up with the ability to both message and build a better future.

Chris, the WSJ suggested stability, surely these numbers you’ve posted must be for something else. Perhaps it’s actually an increase in golden trump statues other countries are building. (Common mixup)

Ten team fantasy baseball league squad (h2h categories). We’re banking on breakouts, so good chance we’re either first or last.

Book 5: Not as riveting as the original trilogy, but I liked seeing the world many years later (and the final act is quite entertaining).

(Also probably a bit distracted by world events to get fully sucked in)

Book 4: The Let Them Theory by Mel Robins

As always, everyone could use therapy. “Let Them” and “Let Me” really boils it down to the basics, and it may sound overly simple, but if you can apply it, it definitely works.

I had no idea what I was doing but it actually felt quite therapeutic to take some time and put things together myself (while specifically not looking at news). End result, not terrible!

Book 3: How to Do Nothing - Resisting the Attention Economy by Jenny Odell.

I wish everyone would read this book.

Book 2: Prophet - a fantastically creative sci-fi element to go with two great main characters (and a handful of fun side characters). A fun ride the whole way through with a gut punch of a climax.
