Oh this game is for yuri freaks I see

Alright Inti I'll play ball. Hard not to forgive your sins when you start your game with rival yuri between two bad bitches. Keep up this momentum.

Tekkaman Blade said trans rights btw.

I always love the bits in these superhero shows where a character just goes "I hope those people die a horrible painful death!"; really relatable emotions.

Golgo 13: The Professional (1983)

The most lavish anime movie I have seen in my life, and not because it has "epic sakuga" every scene, but because every shot mixes wild creativity with calculated precision you can only get in animation.

Osamu Dezaki was the greatest anime director to ever live.

Also after level 5, your character has to go through a transformation sequence while some badass music plays and then they get permanently upgraded for the rest of the game, that's very important too.

According to the SMT mobile game he's a demon.

Once upon a time there was a twin-tailed sister princess who was very unfriendly.

I can't find info on when this game first came out, but it's a doujin game by Daisessen and it's on Steam. Inspiring and endearing Mario 2-style platformer. Very short, but a wonder. Lights up neurons in my brain.

The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations (2009)

The first kamige movie ever made. Mid for a lot of it but the core premise and execution feels like a mix of an eroge and a seinen manga. Pretty entertaining and the twists near the end make it legendary. If you like odd VNs you gotta watch this.

The Butterfly Effect 2 (2006)

I actually found this fairly enjoyable. It's a pretty standard romance drama with a bit of time travel for the most part.

And then there's a tech startup subplot with an evil mobster who sucks the main character's dick. Just happens in the middle and doesn't matter.

I read "orb-likes" at one point. Because of the UI. And it's never left my head since because it's weirdly enough the most perfect description I could think of. I look at a game that has meters as orbs and I immediately get it

More elaborate personal feelings on the matter. I exceeded Bluesky's word limit like a billion times so here's just a screenshot (w/ alt text):

Yoshizawa stated in a 1997 interview that he believes action games are a "fundamental" videogame. Simultaneously, he was dissatisfied by the state of storytelling in action games at the time.

As you play Klonoa, you feel like the game is shouting: "Platformers can have the heart of a JRPG, too!"

Klonoa: Door to Phantomile (1997)

A truly special game that pairs top-notch level design that constantly squeezes more out of its mechanics with a very distinct personality and sentimentality. In that sense, it shares a lot with Dynamite Headdy.

Love and tears paint Klonoa. It sticks to you.

The second half version of this verse genuinely brings me to tears from its sincerity carranger is so fucking peak man.

Dynamite Headdy (1994)

Koichi Kimura's child, born out of his desire to make something "truly his" after years of working on pre-existing IPs. That passion is noticeable in every level with intricate theming and boundless imagination.

I only move for head that's why they call me Dynamite Headdy.

Drive (1997)

Steve Wang and Koichi Sakamoto's bizarre american action movie that feels kinda like a Hong Kong action movie trying to be as american as possible. Kind of unhinged, but rocks. Sakamoto is one of the greatest to ever do it and his style IS the movie.

They play Juno Reactor.

Sin & Punishment (2000)

Hideyuki Suganami's final directorial work, and successor to Alien Soldier. An absolute masterpiece that left me constantly breathless at its moxie and brilliant game design.

It's been 25 years, and yet this game feels futuristic. Videogames still have so much potential.

REALLY?? I've seen references but never knew the context. In the shonen yuri streetfighting manga Air Master one of the early arc villains is a leader of a delinquent mob and his Misogyny is like a character trait (though it's kind of a gag) and it felt like a reference to something I didn't get lol

I don't have any personal attachment to this one but I think it's genuinely the most overwhelming minute I've seen of american TV animation. Left me dumbfounded going "WHAT THE FUCK" every second.

The Incredible Hulk (1996).
