Kalamazoo, MI. Initial estimates from our local Indivisible chapter are that at least 10,000 people participated in today’s rally. That’s 8% of the population of our metro area (adding in Portage’s pop).

Since it’s Mother’s Day, this is a fascinating read. Makes you want to stream the film as soon as you finish the book. I also really enjoyed this person’s style of writing.

My son Gabriel died three years ago tonight at the age of 15 after a 2 1/2 yr journey with a rare cancer (DSRCT). Blue was his favorite color, so blue hearts in his memory today. And to all whose grief makes this time of year difficult.

My Day-Before-Thanksgiving final prep shirt.

Yes, I know in the show it’s performed at an office Christmas Party by Misses Polansky, Wong, and Della Hoya, but I choose to wear it today!

Purchased at the Sean-Kristin revival.

All three of these are longtime favs. Julie’s includes old English carols not often heard today. And the first song I must hear on the day after Thanksgiving is Barbra’s Jingle Bells? The Carpenters’ album is basically one long medley.

Beacon Hill (1975) CBS’ attempt to do an American version of Upstairs, Downstairs. Great cast! Beatrice Straight, Nancy Marchand, Edward Herrmann, George Rose, etc.

Lily is taking a break from keeping me safe by barking at everything outside the front windows and has joined in the back of the house. I am preparing food for game night with friends. Ticket to Ride and homemade patty melts. Squirrels, dogs on walks, and delivery drivers, you are on notice!

A personal story to introduce myself to musical theater lovers:

My parents owned an Indiana radio station in the 70s. In a 1978 mailing of albums from a record label we received the OBCR of On The Twentieth Century. I memorized it. I would later learn that my husband saw the original production. 🧵

Decided that my first post should be a photo of our rescue pup Lily Garland (On The Twentieth Century reference). She’s between 2-3. She’s the 4th female white shepherd in our adult lives. Animal Control was going to put her down. She’s been with us 8 weeks as of tomorrow. Big sweetheart!
