Celebrate Juneteenth with a visit to the National Constitution Center. This cloth with the Emancipation Proclamation printed on it was likely carried by a soldier in the U.S. Colored Troops. See it on display in our exhibit, #CivilWarAndReconstruction.

The Trump administration has not complied with a federal court order directing it to continue funding legal representation for unaccompanied immigrant children, attorneys in the case allege.
Trump admin hasn’t funded legal help for unaccompanied immigrant children despite judge’s order
Attorneys say the funding cutoff has caused chaos, with kids as young as 5 facing judges alone in immigration courts. Some are victims of sexual abuse and trafficking.

For the Trump administration, there is no upside to returning Abrego Garcia. It’s all downside. They are going to stall, quibble, argue, and whatever else until a court orders them to do it, and then they are going to make explicit what they’ve been doing all along, which is say no.

We’re not living through a “wow this is a bad administration” moment.

It’s a “there may not be another administration” moment.

Jackie Robinson was a radical – don’t listen to the sanitized version of history
Years before Colin Kaepernick was born, Robinson wrote, ‘I cannot stand and sing the anthem. I cannot salute the flag; I know that I am a Black man in a white world.’

Tomorrow’s going to be a good stress test of the press. El Salvadoran President Bukele will visit the White House. At the press availability, every Q ought to be about Abrego Garcia: where is he now? Did US ask you to return him? etc. WH will hate, maybe try to prevent, so all should band together.
