Seeing some commentary around this graph Gen Z "swinging right" etc etc. Someone tell me if I'm wrong but...

Isn't it just that a small portion of Gen Zs were eligible to vote in 2019? And 2025 is less a 'shift' but a more accurate representation of the whole as way more can vote now? #auspol

It is genuinely unbelievable to me how many people on Instagram think the Sportsbet "acquisition" letter to the Betoota Advocate is real.

This comment has 800 likes.

Imagine introducing laws to protect kids from how toxic social media is and... thanking News Corp for helping?

Every media outlet that uses social media as a distribution channel actively shapes the culture of those platforms.

These things are not separate.

Trans kids have increasingly become the targets of individualised negative 'news' coverage sure seems like bullying and cyber-bullying.

But it's not just trans kids.

This awful Courier Mail "emoji poll" invites hostile commentary on disabled kids. Social media shreds mental health and THIS IS WHY

I really can't stress enough how it is NOT newsworthy that a kid placed second in an inter-school running race.

But sure let's publish multiple stories her including potentially indentifying details.

It's not a once-off, it's a pattern.

It's amazing what tech platforms will allow to stay up.

I reported this TikTok comment for threatening violence. TikTok said there is no violation.

(Context: I explained that freedom of political expression means they can protest for their own causes too).

I am making a brave attempt to quarantine and soothe complaints by Boomers, Gen X and elder Millennials about the incoming Hottest 100 of Australian songs by offering them a music list of their own.

Gimme the Nobel Peace prize.

Fascinating read, I kept highlighting parts to share and then realised it was basically the whole article.

Out of 15 screencaps have decided to go with this one (there is a LOT of gold here everybody say thank you @ginarush.bsky.social!)

Like, I've been making these kinds of comparisons for Zee Feed readers for about 5 years — as a mostly solo operator talking to a key audience. Others have been doing it waaaay longer — thinking of Jane Gilmore's "fixed it" project.

To read this in the ABC now feels like a slap in the face.

Strong parallels between Latouff and ASAP Rocky's approach to courtroom dressing — both breaking expectations while staying within the hard boundaries. Refusal to shrink or dilute oneself under scrutiny.

Another Digital News Report tidbit on paying for news — can we finally put to bed the argument that people will pay for a single article?

They don't.

Many startups have tried and failed to implement this, there is no viable scale.
