YEAH like in no world should it be considered safe for young people to just go in blindly when it comes to sex, everyone deserves to know what they're getting into! its insulting to them to think depriving young adults of resources is healthy.....I'll never understand it

BUT not everyone turns out that way! its actually so dangerous to think that porn bans and furious sheltering from any exposure/talk of sex is protecting anyone, for a lot of young people that awareness is what would help them know if they're being mistreated or not, its literally been proven

like I was raised by very reserved people that only gave me resources through books or relied on the school system (which was inadequate abstinence only sex ed) and I feel incredibly lucky I didn't run into anything that changed me for worse when I tried to learn about sexuality on my own
