The Liberals are recycling the same old policies in an attempt to become relevant. One Nation lite.
Liberals want ‘Australian values’ screening for new migrants
Coalition frontbenchers want to focus on values – not race or religion – as they seek to strike a balanced tone while the party bleeds voters to One Nation.

Well, now we have the Liberals reverting back to type, faced with irrelevance. So what do they have to offer?
Cuts in migration. Vague promises about lowering the cost of electricity. Not much else. Hardly something to build a platform on.
One Nation lite!
Weak Liberal Party ‘moderates’ as shameless as internal net zero opponents
Any moderate with a shred of self-respect would step off the frontbench in protest at what has unfolded.

How refreshing to read about Lily again and I can only wish her well. Like so many who achieved "success" at a young age, she has well and truly suffered the downside of fame.

Typical Libs. Faffed around for 9 years when in government when decisive action could have had lower power bills and economic benefits. They totally lack ambition.
Liberals decide to formally dump net zero but won’t pull out of Paris Agreement
The Liberal Party has formally agreed to dump the 2050 net zero target but will remain open to a carbon-neutral future as a “welcome outcome”.

To me, the solution is simple. Leave the marriage of convenience with the Nats. Let the far right join Hanson. Allign with the Teals.
The Nats will become irrelevant, and the far right will find their natural home. The choice then becomes a 3 party race.

I cannot understand why shoplifting rates are up. A shift in societal values? Economic reasons? All of the above.

You know what. Hamas is a really horrible terrorist group. If anything is going to derail the peace talks, it's them. They cannot be allowed to continue operating in Gaza and beyond. This is not to distract from all the terrible things Israel have done.
October 14, 2025 at 12:36 AM
So, the Liberal party is losing support to One Nation. Apparently, the Libs are not right wing enough. Moving to the sensible centre (where most elections are won) has upset the racist base. How not surprising.

Once again, America has experienced political violence, resulting in the death of an influential person. This is all too common and inevitable in a society that prioritises guns over public safety. Unfortunately, the situation will not change until vested interests are taken out of the equation.

Exactly
At risk of being rude, have others noticed the extreme irony of the National Party (self declared ‘friend of farmers’) breaking up the coalition because they oppose Net Zero while Australia languishes under extreme floods in NSW and extreme drought everywhere else? No? Just me, then?

Well, the LNP are no more, for the time being. In an incredible act of self harm, The Nationals have decided to split, for reasons only they can know.
