I regularly petsit two adorable, loving labs who routinely eat each other's poo. The owners have spent years trying to train them out of this behavior but you still have to follow them around the yard with a bag to catch any deposits on the fly, because if you don't, the other dog surely will.

Yes, they're potential carriers of rabies and one of them bit my father 40 years ago when he had the audacity to bring the cat food in (long story, painful for man and raccoon)... but I still think equating them with crypto bros is a bit insulting 😅

Gen Xer here: I didn't have a personal home PC until 2003. It wasn't a generational necessity but a luxury item. So your larger point stands. Also, Blair Witch was promoted via an hourlength TV special in addition to online, so the gullible had plenty of outlets. But no mass panic happened. 😄
