I’m leaning toward calcite after the trilobite eye discourse. Have just returned from from the Yucatán and want to ask: Is that beautiful limestone peninsula with its cenotes a calcite dreamscape?
Also, would stromatolites be eligible in 2024?

I’m trying to find cool and persuasive facts to share about kyanite, but not being a geologist, I don’t know if any of those compare well to calcite.

I had been feeling sad and took my dog for a walk. His leash got all tangled in the rushes at the base of this willow; I had to track through the muddy spring to release him. And I found myself face-to-face with this tree. There’s a metaphor here about enduring and adapting, finding gnarled beauty.
