Pleased with my first artifact #photogrammetry model - a "c'önc' " or "füsèla" used to secure bundles of hay and the like ( threading a thin rope through the holes and twisting/wrapping it around the elongated bit). Done with Polycam as I am learning how to use it for community heritage purposes.

It's been a very hectic February, so here's a belated post from SSASC 2025 in Edinburgh, chatting all things gannets, Guga and Gaelic to my fellow student attendees.
My poster also got a prize which was a nice surprise considering how early stages my research project it.

On that note, I had to dig out this photo, showing that someone else must have seen the similarities... an old military bunker got a creative makeover. Does it count as some kind of contemporary archaeology, @almostarch.bsky.social ?

While I enjoy occasionally complaining about good old Canmore being a bit clunky to use, I shall forever be grateful for its functionality after trying (and failing) to access the heritage inventory of Canton Ticino. I was trying to find out something more about this guy here in the picture...

I'm also very interested in visual communication, especially graphics and archaeological illustration, from formal artifact drawing to interpretive and expressive pieces. I also like to document life on excavation sites through sketching - see a wee example here! I am currently open for commissions.
