It would do Reform some good to inform themselves about the functioning and legal status of other ecclesiastical courts in the UK e.g C of E and Catholic versions . They’ve not caused panic about supplanting UK law. Most people I’d guess have no idea they exist.

Exactly this. The problem is with the ‘sensible politician’. Ten years ago, I’d have thought the idea that US politicians would subvert the FDA was a weird joke but Farej could go down the same road just for votes.
