I once had to explain to a broker that the reason he had to mop his basement every morning was that his hot water heater had a hole in it. He then asked what to do. I genuinely thought he was fucking with me, but no, I had to explain what a plumber was and how to call one. He made 7 figures.

I spent decades in finance and it's how almost all of the really rich dudes talked. They're all used to people smiling and nodding at their nonsense because they own the boat.

The Obama presidency finally convinced me that there was no point trying to be a centrist Democrat. The right will paint you as a DaNgerOuS LefTY no matter how centrist your policies actually are.

The only campaign slogan of the right for 10 years has literally been criticizing the country. If you want to make something great AGAIN, it implies it's not great now. But whatever, hypocrisy died a long time ago.

I don't understand why, but my whole life it seems like Democrats have focused on what happened instead of what's actively happening. Lawyers instead of fire fighters.
