I’ve seen a lot of discourse where you girls are thirsting after my man #Corbeau, but you’ll NEVER have what we have #Pokemon 😂

Sitting down soon to flesh out a new #Substack essay about the conversation these books are having, both with each other and with Nick Fuentes's recent comments about how scary women are.

From now on, I want to be known exclusively as “Lil Internet“

People with Substacks should be legally required to disclose their tangentiality to the manisphere up front…

One thing I love about being a teacher on winter break is the experimentation. Just tried my hand at a homemade Frappuccino. Let’s see how it turned out.

One thing that peeves me when non-public school teachers write about teaching is when they start by dogging “intransigent” teachers and then end by stating all the resources public schools don’t have (subtweeting the article on dyslexia practices in @newyorker.com )

As I aim toward a more thoughtful new year, I’ve got my first Substack up in a while about Woolf is helping me be more critical:

The older I get, the more my politics mature from childish, naïve beliefs like "the world is complicated and leaders have to make hard decisions" to more serious, adult principles like "hurting people is bad and helping people is good."

My main 2026 goal? Circling back to close more loops.

Y’all, I did a double feature of One Battle After Another and Hamnet last night, and if you’ve missed either of them, get thee to a movie theater. #MovieSky

Officially filled every row of my “Year In Reading” book cart for 2025. (Actually, I now have 3 books in a second row on the top shelf cuz I was behind on updating.) #BookSky

As a middle school English teacher, I need you to understand that (for me at least) this is an issue that district admin + publishers create. Class/grade level sets are “too expensive.” But also “students need more exposure to the kinds of short form passages on testing.”
In American high schools, many teenagers are assigned few full books to read from beginning to end — often just one or two per year, according to researchers and thousands of responses to an informal reader survey by The New York Times. trib.al/gNp7kWK

Oh oh oh oh! Also also, Wilfred Owens

“My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori.”

Oh, also William Carlos Williams

“I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold”

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social weak answer to @danpfeiffer.bsky.social on his croney ass statements on Cuellar was unacceptable, and he should be grilled as speaker. I need the Pod Save folks to become more aggressive interviewers of our own party.

I want author’s to take one of those “gotcha” surveys they send to politicians, and the one question I want is, “Would you consider yourself earnest?” I don’t want to read books by people who would say “no.”

I hate to start trends, but I’ve learned two things in the last week: black coffee is good and Carly Rae Jepsen’s Emotion is a perfect pop album.
