Exactly this. It's not that we don't have enough jurors, it's that we (arguably, from the govt's position) don't have enough capacity for the number of jury trials it would take to clear the backlog

I genuinely believe it's about the backlog and the govt. panicking that it's getting out of control - but the protestor thing is a neat side benefit for them

Yes. Corbyn's approach was "why should I play the media's game?", Polanski's is "I'm going to beat them at their own game." Which is - so far - proving to be lot more effective, and a lot harder to counter.

I think that's the same point as the OP: we can do whatever we want with our books (I enjoy them both as objects and as reading material), but musn't pearl clutch when other people cover theirs in notes or tea stains, or tear them in half to make them easier to travel with. They're not sacred.

It's a trap. Suggest any alternative and you're being "too Utopian" and "pushing away moderate voters". There's no way to win without telling them they are great and brilliant and really quite handsome, actually

From what I've read (admittedly I only read this today and haven't fact checked) she's fairly pro-US, pro-Israel, and anti-socialist - and Trump championed her earlier in the year. Could this be, in part, a quiet concession to him? (I mean he'll still probably flip out)

If the secret material existed surely they could just root out the offenders, prosecute them, and/or ban them from the organisation? If the stated aims of an organisation are legal, and the majority of members are faithful to those stated aims, proscription seems untenable
