As Heather Cox Richardson writes, The Epstein story is about more than the sex trafficking of girls. It's also about rich and privileged people evading accountability for breaking the law." People like Donald Trump, in other words.

A grassroots movement is calling on all Americans to abstain from shopping with major retailers tomorrow, February 28, as part of an “economic blackout.”

I encourage you to join. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/boycott

I understand that Big Brother Musk is now going through Americans' tax returns. Remember that IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH and FREEDOM IS SLAVERY.

Voted for Trump, now have buyer’s remorse? The Trump philosophy seems to be his version of FAFO. Don’t buy anything on the 28th unless you absolutely have to.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

January 2025 reads.

My absolute favorite was 11/22/63 by @stephenking.bsky.social 🎉 When was someone going to tell me this was his best romance book? I sobbed at the end. 10/10 recommend.

Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. Hard to believe it was written in the 90’s! People called this book prophetic and I completely agree. It was very hard to read at times, but so important.

Genres: Dystopian, horror, post-apocalyptic, political, fantasy

Julia Armfield is one of my new favorite horror / litfic authors. Her ability to draw out a sense of dread and water/ocean/climate themed imagery is stunning. Highly recommend Our Wives, Under the Sea and Private Rites #bookrecs #litfic #juliaarmfield #booksky #read

Finished American Rapture by CJ Leede (same author as Maeve Fly). IT’S AMAZING. 5/5. But check the trigger warnings.

Read if you loved The Stand or The Last of Us.
