White christian nationalists have been been looking forward to the apocalypse for a very long time and they have zero issues with sacrificing their own children on command and forcing rape victims to marry their rapists. Idk why people aren't more afraid of them.
If I looked like Elon Musk I'd try to avoid roasting other people based on their appearance
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

The idea that we get *less* migration from a destabilized Venezuela is madness.
Cracks me up how you could just replace Venezuela and Venezuelans with Iraq and Iraqis and it’d be indistinguishable from something written in 2002

I've seen firsthand the damage Facebook has done, and the worst part is how heavily rural communities still rely on FB to convey crucial information. When my kids were in school, every week I received info that was only available on FB. It's a shitty profiteering conglomerate that shouldn't exist

This is how the teen boys in my neck of the woods got radicalized . . . by foreigners photoshopping MAGA hats onto hot chicks in stolen IG photos. 🤦‍♀️
X rolled out a new feature overnight showing where accounts are based. This network of “Trump-supporting independent women” that claimed to be “real Americans” are based in Thailand.

The photos were stolen from European models & posts pushed pro-Trump lines while targeting Islam and LGBTQ people.

Seeing some conjecture that MTG is leaving to prep for 2028--taking the MAGA reins when Trump drops them. Sorry, but MAGA would never support a woman for president.

Just the other day I learned of the existence of the bearded vulture, the only vertebrate that eats mostly bone. And it looks super metal.
I've recently learned about the existence of the bearded vulture and everyone should know about this thing. It is a large bird of prey that is the only known vertebrate whose diet is 70–90% bone. Look at this gorgeous dinosaur!

There is a type of bee orchid whose flower mimics a bee which has been extinct for millennia, and of which we have no evidence; except that there is a bee orchid that mimics it. The flower remembers.

I have been doing entirely too much earnest posting about deep things recently, I need to do a proper thread about hippo testicles or something just to keep myself sane.

Oh by the way hippos have migratory testicles.

You can remember where polar bears live by the regions they live in.

Arctos is the Greek word for "bear."

Thus, "Arctic" means "they git bears there," and Antarctic, by virtue of the "anti-" prefix, means "they don't got bears there."

We cannot trust anything this admin says or does 🫩
The CDC website was quietly edited last night to claim there’s “no evidence” that vaccines don’t cause autism.

This is false.

But this is damaging, even beyond people’s confidence in vaccines.

For the first time in my career, I cannot tell people to trust what the CDC website without hesitation.

Thanks @pattonoswalt.bsky.social for pushing back on Maher's anti-trans BS. The fact that he won't even acknowledge that trans people are being targeted by the government is insane.
