Ex teacher, after 20 years now a (happy, stress free) bus driver. Woke, everyone friendly, Europhile.
I don't post much work stuff here, but today we received the first of a batch of brand new single deck buses for North Liverpool. Always nice to get new stuff as a driver... buses are expected to last 15-20 years so it doesn't happen every day.

Might be unpopular, but I'm happy to pay a bit more tax to increase our defence spending... I'd rather do this than cut other things that are already surviving on peanuts. BUT, some of the most wealthy need to help too and we need to recover more money from COVID mismanagement.

The cost of reaching net zero in the UK by 2050 is now predicted to be just 0.2% of GDP (about £4 billion per year).

Spread this far and wide. It reveals Reform and the Conservatives' opposition to net zero for being 'too expensive' as just plain wrong.

A bit of snow, less than forecast (so far) and a couple of hours late, but it makes for a wintery scene here where I had just finished the last 61 service of the night at Old Swan, Liverpool.

Not exactly textbook quality but here is one of my #foxoftheday pictures from my doorbell camera. There are generally 2 or 3 of them; a couple of years we've had fox cubs as well. I just put out water and a selection of dog food every night. North Liverpool.

I will post occasional pictures or thoughts from my job. On Sunday I had an interesting job taking buses from Southport (Merseyside) to Castleford (Yorkshire) across the Pennines. He we are at Hartshead Moor services, giving the buses a rest after the long slog uphill from Manchester.
