SNAP helps our kids in school.
SNAP greatly improves health care outcomes.
SNAP is crucial to local economies.

Just a reminder about the policies the gop just passed through Congress with the “Big Beautiful Bill.”

This bill is a pure tax break to the wealthiest Americans at the expense of services to all other Americans…Full stop….
And this chart suddenly feels particularly relevant.

Hey all! As of you know my dad passed unexpectedly this spring. In his honor we have created the Gary E. Rehwinkel Foundation, which will give college scholarships to students from my dad’s high school.

Anything you can donate I’d appreciate greatly. ❤️

Hard to come to the appropriate words to describe the impact Brian Johnson has had on @EqualityILL and our community.

On behalf of a grateful LGBTQ+ community here in Illinois, thank you Brian for fighting for us everyday!

In my career I have been blessed to working as the Chicago Comptroller as well as State Bank Director—amongst other amazing opportunities. I’ve met some truly amazing people and worked on incredible things.

But the time has come for the next adventure!

Happy anniversary to Illinois, which became the 21st state 206 years ago today.

It's a good day to listen back to our @21st.show conversation with an author who chronicled the path to statehood and the politics behind it -- themes which, in many ways, stick with us even now.
Book explores Illinois’ journey to statehood | Illinois Public Media
A new book looks at the persuasion and power that went into Illinois statehood and consequences of decisions made decades ago.

Check this out! Something I just picked up, it’s a Wanted Poster for a bank in Gorham, IL, from the 1930s.

I think it’s cool that the reward was put up by the Illinois Bankers Association and that apparently they dropped the price at some point from $1,000 to $500. 😂

I’ll start - we have GOT to end Daylight Saving Time (Permanent DST, please!).

What about you?

Cool thing I picked up recently to put in the City Comptroller’s office. Picture of the Comptroller’s office at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1933.

For my first econ history nerd post I wanted to share my absolute favorite poster that I own!

its silkscreen by Diane Haft in 1985, done as part of a campaign to stop banking institutions that were investing in Apartheid South Africa. So let's talk about the history of South African divestment! 🤓🧵
