Boreal expansion isn’t just about rising #temperatures.

Shrubs thrive where tundra and forest meet 🌡️warmth and 💧moisture help them spread.

But under their cover, tundra lichens decline 🦌👥 threatening caribou, reindeer, and Indigenous Arctic traditions.

We’re now in Phase 2 and we want to include two new focus areas: the entire #Amazon Basin and a new region in the #Philippines.

We are applying advanced deep learning techniques and extending the temporal coverage up to 2024 🌏
