Ever wondered who the orca is in my banner? Today I share two photos of her (one from a still, one a capture from a video). I took these photos July 2024. She is called Holly (T99B), and since this photo, has had a calf, gone off on her own, lost her calf, lived with relatives then returned to mum.

Orca of the Month for August! - T036 Flapjack. She is one of the orcas I saw in SJI last year. She and her daughter Bella, and grand daughter Holly swam under the boat, giving me a moment of a life time! Flapjack is a super grandma, with 4 daughers, 14 grand children and 2 great grandchilden.

Monthly podcast, debuting July. The segments so far: Orca of the Month, Cetacean News (from around the world), L90 Ballena Update (adopted orca), Orca Watch (tracking Biggs, Northern and Southern Residents), Mini lecture on a lesser known cetacean species, Mini lecture on cetacean concepts.

First draft of the banner. Still in early planning stages, but heres the idea: I will be exploring any whale related news I can find and deem worthy, and compiling it into a monthly podcast. There will also be educational segments. Target audience will be those not in the cetacean world yet.

Busy few weeks coming up! I'll announce some of the later stuff a little later. Tomorrow im doing an 18 hour marathon for the CWR. Next saturday (17th), im doing the eurovision watch-a-long. Also trying to find somewhere to fit Spirit of the North 2 into my schedule. Maybe after Spiritfarer?
