I know this is intended as a joke, but I'd say this was one of the Beatles' prime contributions to pop music! I LOVED how they did this throughout their collective and solo careers. It's one of the things that makes "A Day in the Life" so goddamn magical.

I got my copy of Craig Yoe's Captain LOL and Rubber Chicken, and it's genuinely great. So far, my favorite part is the free hole, which features much more creative joy than you might expect!

Thinking today (as I frequently do) about Willy Pogany, the artist whose illustrations for Padraic Colum's mythology books in the 1920s ignited my imagination so fiercely in the late 1960s. I spent hours and hours trying to draw like Pogany.
