These Republican assholes are gearing up to dump all over the police officers that protected their asses on 1/6 by trying to tell America we didn’t see what happened with our own eyes four years ago.

I think journalists, policymakers and good govt types are struggling to understand DOGE because their mental model is that it is a government reform commission, operating like previous ones. Maybe. But it might be better to start thinking about it as a hostile takeover of the govt by oligarchs.

And all the post-election think pieces should be be focused on the question of why voters refused to accept that message from Biden and Harris. But that would lead inevitably to an examination of media coverage of Biden and of Harris.
In @jonathanweisman.bsky.social's magnum opus about Dems and the working class, it's at the end that you get the full truth about 2024: Biden-Harris ran the most pro-worker administration in decades, but voters blamed them for inflation anyway.

5/Law enforcements job here is far from done. It's critical to learn more about this incident to protect the public from the next one. when you hear Trump demonizing law enforcement & especially the FBI, remember the work they do every day to protect us all.

With all the talk about Judge Merchan’s plan to impose a sentence without jail time or fine & with an unconditional discharge on January 10, I’d urge him instead to condition Trump’s discharge on obeying the presidential oath he will take on January 20. That’s a promise we know Trump won’t keep.

So no one wants to ask why they didn’t lose the Black working class?

We should just ignore the random factor?….
Interesting point in here about Dem policies from Clinton through Obama treating voters as consumers instead of workers, setting up inflation to swamp any good news Biden could have taken credit for www.nytimes.com/2025/01/04/u...
How the Democrats Lost the Working Class
The theory seemed sound: Stabilize financial markets, support the poor and promote a more secure, integrated world. But blue-collar workers were left behind.

Dear Judge Merchan,

I believe it would be extremely reasonable of you to sentence Donald Trump to four years and two months of home confinement at Mar-a-Lago with a gag order and a travel ban.

Effective immediately.

Thank you.

A jury of 12 of his peers who heard all of the evidence and had the opportunity to hear his lawyers argue against it unanimously agreed that he was guilty. Prosecutors can't make that happen, nor can judges. That's our criminal justice system in action. The jurors found Trump guilty.
