I swear to fuckin' gawd, I'm stuck on the arterial street in the pickup line, and these mfs come flying down the road, 20mph over the speed limit, and don't even notice shit until they're already on top of it. And then they lay on the damn horn. The fuck, people.

This right side view shows the bottom bracket out front, the tiny tire, the head gear with a cap where the gooseneck would normally be, and the idler pulley that keeps the return side of that long chain from hanging down. You can just see the handlebar, and the linkage parallel to the chain.

Look up Francis Faure. This guy was a 2nd-rank cyclist when he broke the 1-hour distance record on that bike. The elites hated him because he was outrunning them and they couldn't even draft on him.
So UCI banned recumbents. And that's why diamond frames are still the default and bents are so rare.
