And you may ask yourself, “Well, how did I get here?”

Just a girldad & husband working in public health. Love a good musical, Boston sports, progressive politics, classic film, etymological tidbits, new wave music, & obsolete technology. Also pretty gay.
Danced around the living room with our almost-two-year-old daughters to Scenes from an Italian Restaurant and I’m not sure life gets better than this.

Measles resurgence is the first red flag for sagging vaccination rates and a signal of more to come. It is the most contagious of the vaccine preventable diseases and therefore was always going to be the first to return. The vaccine also happens to be one of the most effective… if only people get it

Air traffic controllers work under impossible pressure every day. The President couldn’t do their job for five minutes, yet he’s lecturing them like they’re the problem.

King! (In that he doesn’t support kings. Counterintuitive I know)
Oscar Isaac says he is open to returning to STAR WARS but is doubtful about Disney after they suspended Jimmy Kimmel.

“I’d be open to it, although right now I’m not so open to working with Disney. But if they can kinda figure it out and, you know, not succumb to fascism, that would be great”

Schumer should announce he’s not running again and save himself the embarrassment. The Baileys would even beat him in a primary at this point.

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

One of the greatest travesties of modern cable tv the placement an ad break between the house landing and Dorothy opening the door to Oz. One of cinema’s greatest moments is entirely undercut if you interrupt her silent yet dramatic journey through the house to the door. #TheWizardofOz #TCMParty
