@wilnerness.bsky.social Do you know Nick Sandlin's injury status? I haven't seen him pitching for any minor league affiliates lately. Latest note on MLB website is that his expected return is "Potentially late July". Is he a candidate for the 60-day IL?

@wilnerness.bsky.social Hey Mike. It looks like Ryan Burr is ready. Bruihl down or do they need the second LHP? Definitely can't send Fisher down. He's been nails. Who comes off the 40-man? Doesn't look there is an obvious name to add to the 60-day IL or DFA. Jimenez? Schultz? Or maybe Burr?

Trump was a business person right? If he was a good one then maybe he would know not to threaten your best customers that you are going to unilaterally change the terms of your 40-year old arrangement without expecting some consequences. #Canada-Mexico-Tariffs

If you are looking for Trump’s motivation for all the threats and nastiness toward Canada, look no further:

Trump is a bully. If he gets what he wants by pushing around Canada and Mexico, who is to say he won’t be pushing around a new set of countries for other imagined reasons? The rest of the world should support Canada and Mexico at this time and make Trump feel some pain.

For the MAGA crowd that says: “America needs to produce its own products, and we won't have to worry about tariffs causing inflation. Self-sufficiency!” how long will take to get up and running on products not currently in production? How about raw materials not found or grown in the U.S.?

@wilnerness.bsky.social Question: are the Jays, Dodgers and Padres loosing out on international free agents because they are on the sidelines until Sasaki announces?

@wilnerness.bsky.social Have you seen any analysis or data indicating whether trade return varies from off-season to trade deadline on expiring contracts (like Vladdy and Bo)?

GOP party discipline will only continue to ebb away over the next two years and drop like a stone after the midterms. Trump is a lame duck.

It’ll be fascinating to see how Trump interacts with the GOP presidential candidates who make themselves known well ahead of the end of Trump’s second term.
G.O.P. Spending Hawks Defy Trump on the Debt Limit, Previewing More Clashes (Gift Article)
President-elect Donald J. Trump is known for his tight grip on members of his party, but the rare rejection of his demand to suspend the debt limit reflected a disconnect that could plague his policy ...

Crazy talk about Trump running for a third term. If they could somehow make it happen, we all know that Barrack Obama would soundly defeat Trump in the challenge of two-term Presidents.

John Candy was a genius and Planes, Trains and Automobiles is an almost perfect movie.

Trump and his followers should look up the definition of landslide.

Republicans and Democrats were asked to identify each other’s issue priorities. Republicans huge misperceptions are based on what right-wing media and Trump told them: LGBT/ transgender policy is the second most important policy priority to Democrats. In reality it was 14th on the Dems list.
The Perception Gap That Explains American Politics
Americans overwhelmingly—but, it turns out, mistakenly—believe that Democrats care more about advancing progressive social issues than widely shared economic ones.

This is how Canada should deal with Donald Trump, irrational actor
We cannot fall into the trap of believing the president-elect is rational – so we must not cave into his blackmail or immediately retaliate with self-destructive tariffs

Who else cringes when Trump is referred to as The President?

Is it weird that my first thought after the presidential election was ‘who is running in 2028 for the GOP and how soon will Trump allow Republicans to start?

$100 to the first reporter who asks Trump about his lame duck term. “Sir, who do you think will be running to replace you?”

What is it with some of these men in Trumpworld who are self-described alpha males but have to pay for dates or rape women (girls)?
November 22, 2024 at 2:39 AM
Donald Trump appoints unethical people (especially who have horribly mistreated women) for the same reason he spends presidential pardons and commutations on criminals who were corrupt. It is about Trump. It is about Trump’s need to have men who are comparable to himself and thus it normalizes him.

Senators should tell Trump that they’ll give up their constitutional duty of advice and consent if he gives up his power to nominate.

How are Trump and Gaetz going to use their Justice Department against their enemies after having complained about Biden’s LAWFARE for the last 3 years?
November 15, 2024 at 5:00 PM
Can’t wait to see what the Trump pardons and commutations list looks like. If Trump feels so empowered that he can nominate Matt Gaetz as AG, he’ll feel comfortable pardoning anyone, including P. Diddy.

I assume that Trump voters will be happy with today’s appointments (with the exception of the hawkish Rubio). People who have been paying attention shouldn’t be surprised. They voted for someone who is infinitely unqualified so why would they be unhappy with others of the same ilk?
