progress of today. My dumbass doesnt know how to use color ramps or gradients, so i did fucking trig to get the gradient i wanted.
A pale white-pink glowing blue ring, and the blender material beneath it that makes it tick. The idea is to take the absolute position of the geometry's point, and take the square root of the sum of the squares of their z and y components. Giving a linearly increasing number the farther it is from the origin. I use this to make a gradient for cool effect. Big glass hollow with an opening at the front and a glowing pale pink ring inside. Result of the trig shenanigans. This is meant to be the sprite used on the outfitters, so its relatively small, 200*200. Boy does it render quick. a rectangle with a pink to white gradient going towards the middle. Its squished there. Made out of a subdivided square tube. Its meant to be a camera flare for when the gun fires. An eleven pointed, star-like, grey ship. With a massive glowing glass orb in the middle, with a pink ring inside, firing a rapididly widening convex white beam. Went for an anime style for this one, to give the impression of power.
