I’m glad your voice is being shared. Keep up the fight for rational thought and discourse.

That really was next level restraint. PM Carney managed that with incredible grace and tact, while still saying what needed to (and could) be said (though I thought at least one “jelly donut comin’ your way, eh?” was in order).

Just one? I thought they were pricier than that
May 7, 2025 at 1:39 AM
That’s fair - I was coming at it from the standpoint that truth should never be a function of who is professing it but rather what rationally backs it up. I think we’re on the same page

I agree with the sentiment but I wonder if the response would ultimately corrupt the objective. Perhaps no one should be to arbiter of truth. Perhaps we should just go back to the good old days when we all knew and called BS when we saw it.

PS - your bird now eats only ketchup chips, poutine and BeaverTails, so getting airborne fours years from now may be a tad tricky. Sorry, eh.

That’s apt but it sure was annoying to see that post in the news cycle this morning. Keep your orange nose out of our elections.

So well put. Freedom is golden. Freedom is giving each other space to explore who we are without necessarily understanding our respective paths. We don’t always have to agree to both be right.
April 26, 2025 at 11:33 PM
There’s no real competition between the two - Mark Carney is the real deal. And he stepped up at the right time. Pierre Poilievre is not a bad guy, but his time has passed - he rose to prominence on the idea that Trudeau needed replacing. Well that’s happened, and PM Carney has covered the field.

That’s a wee shellfish, don’t you think?

Chin up, eyes to the horizon! You got this!

Kind of like “Bird” (Charlie Parker) said: “If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn.”

That’s so fascinating, eh? It makes sense though that our language, which we use to express ourselves also shapes us - with it’s opportunities and it’s limitations. I imagine the arts helps to provide opportunities that written/spoken language cannot, helping us to express ourselves more fully.

Absolutely. Due process is for all of us, guilty and innocent. It prevents the innocent from being wrongfully convicted and treats all of us, including those who have committed a crime, with basic dignity. Due process facilitates resolute, not rage, justice.

I was thinking more along the lines of dialogue with neighbours rather than any particular person who fits the description you give, but yeah I see the uphill climb (even for neighbours that fit that description)

Satie has always pulled at my heartstrings, and Gymopedie is different. Humanity first is what I take from that, with heavy dose of melancholy/sadness. Nothing is more important than the wellbeing of our neighbour.

Satie! Which one? They are numbered.
April 12, 2025 at 5:32 PM
So hard to choose but yeah this one is kind of constitutive, eh?
April 12, 2025 at 5:26 PM
“Chapeau bas”! I had never heard this - merci!
April 12, 2025 at 5:25 PM
What? You took that shot? That’s phenomenal.
April 12, 2025 at 3:41 PM
It’s amazing how eloquent one can sound when speaking fairly, rationally and truthfully.
April 12, 2025 at 3:06 PM
Love it! Strength in positivity!
April 12, 2025 at 2:53 PM
Please tell me that’s a photo.

That’s not far off but certainly does express a certain sentiment. Writing for sure, as I see it if one is actually intending the words to be a window into themselves, is an imparting of one’s self but need not be harmful; I’d say it can be cathartic.
