The countryside charity working for a greener city: more green spaces, improved neighbourhoods, and a better life for Londoners!
https://www.cprelondon.org.uk/
We are asking Londoners to challenge politicians, the media + other commentators. This is not about 'build baby build'. It's about making housing affordable again. That cannot be done simply by building houses. See our Letter to London (6/6)

As the London Plan consultation is published, we write A Letter to London
It’s not a housebuilding crisis — it’s an affordability emergency. As the Mayor publishes the May 2025 London Plan consultation, we publish A Letter to London.

#Enfield's #HousingCrisis isn't about the number of homes, it's about lack of #AffordableHousing. Building new housing does not bring down house prices, get people out of temporary accommodation, bring down private rents, tackle unsafe conditions or solve overcrowding... (2/6)

Building more homes, especially high-cost ones on #GreenBelt land, won’t solve the affordable housing crisis. Please help us challenge the ‘housebuilding’ narrative by sharing the facts. See our letter to London below. (2/2)

But there are other places where many of these #homes could go. In nearby #Crawley and #Horsham carparks occupy 35 hectares of land, which could be used to build 3,500 homes at medium density, according to the Parkulator tool:

But there are other places that could be built on instead. In Stoke, for example, carparks occupy some 29 hectares. On this area you could build 2,900 homes at medium density, according to the Parkulator tool: open-innovations.github.io/parkulator/
