The first-ever #NSL player card is by my money the best player from the 2025 season, Lisa Pechersky! While presenting mediocre-but-still-impressive attacking numbers, it was her ability to draw fouls and fight for the ball that made her season so impressive!

Don't worry, I'm also working on getting those #NSL cards done! In the meantime, here are some of the average p90 statistical differences I noticed between the NSL and the CPL (2019 for the new-league factor, and 2025 for a projectible "final" outcome). Does anything jump out?

Based on the model, this is the 2025 #CanPL TOTS! If I were choosing myself, I'd make a few changes, don't get me wrong. Any surprising additions or omissions?

Last in the award features is the best goal-scorer in league history, Sam Salter! Before you get up in arms, this is a RATE metric, not volume. Obviously, I would still classify Salter as the best striker in 2025, and his three awards prove that!

Ndom would be a coup for anyone at this level. In a down year for CBs he was among the cream of the crop, better than his peers in every important category.

A lot of you pegged Coimbra for a breakout season, and breakout he did! He was one of the deadliest strikers on a rate basis, held his own in the air, and drew his fair share of fouls. A deserving U21 winner, and possibly onto better things!

Next up on the docket is the 2025 DPOY, Dan Nimick! He improved a lot of his defensive metrics from last season, surprisingly, and I can't offer any complaints about his win!

Next up in the showcase is the best winger of 2025, and arguably one of the best players overall this season, Ali Musse!

Starting off this year is, pardon the possible bias, possibly the most talented player ever to grace the #CanPL, and author of one of the most iconic goals of this calendar year!

I promise I’m working on finishing up, but as you can see I’ve been a little busy 😏. They’ll be done within the week!

Charlie Trafford is retiring! He was a workhorse during his three seasons with #CavalryFC, always ranking highly in terms of his duels and foul drawing, and finishes in the top-25 all time. He will be missed, especially after his stellar 2024. Going out on a high!

Cameron is a very physical FB for one so young, he recovers the ball well and chips in defensively. His major weakness is his ball distribution, not uncommon for immature defenders. So much room to grow here, although one worries it is a step back in the short term.

KDL is a very defensively able FB, if not in the minutiae but in aggregate. He is also one of the best tacklers in the league as well as an excellent crosser. His deficiencies come mostly around his ball distribution. A very solid pickup for #VancouverFC if completed.

Fernandez is a very physical FB who is at or slightly above average just about everywhere else. However, on the whole this works out to a very solid addition, especially as he has shown consistent results over his three years in the #CanPL.

#PacificFC sign Schiavoni! Not much to work with here unfortunately, so I can't even give a judgement. Good bet on youth however.

This is definitely a bet on potential, seeing as TJ didn't play that much in 2024. That being said, he showed alright in his sample, profiling as a direct-to-goal winger, a decent tackler, and very high event. Hard to project given his age but the promise is there!

Rumour has it MOB is off to Chesterfield by transfer! If that is true, it would be a great move for the young defender (and quite the loss for #ForgeFC). Great with his physicality, a good ball recoverer, and can pass well. His ceiling is immense!

Not much to work with here, but in very limited minutes Wright was an alright option, with a knack for producing shots on goal. Still only 21, he has lots of room to grow, especially with his physicality. Would be a project pickup.

Abatneh is a really young defender with tremendous poise on the ball. That being said, he shows the typical weaknesses of a young defender, that being relatively poor strength, tackling, and offensive prowess. #AtléticoOttawa ‘s bet is that he will progress like Walker.

Ferrin is a talented winger, who's strengths lie in shot production and dueling. He also contributes offensively, draws fouls, and takes on his man well. His major weakness is his ball distribution. A very able pickup for #YorkUnited.

Reon Moore is a Free Agent ST. He can do two things very well: contribute in the goals, and generate shots. Everything else he is generally swing and miss, however what do you expect from a pure 9? He would be a good depth pickup for most teams at this level.

One thing that can be said for certain is that Callegari and Johnston will be a very physical partnership, at least in terms of tackling. However, I do think that methodology and time passed makes this type of comparison VERY approximate and possibly unreliable.

Botello is back on loan to #YorkUnited! He is highly involved and a great crosser, who also provides security in front of goal and decent dribbling. However, he struggles to contest and win duels, recover the ball efficiently, or provide offence. He is only 23 though!
