CPJP was honoured to welcome the Hon Mark Dreyfus KC MP to our event last week - just announced as Australia's Special Envoy for Int'l Human Rights. His message: "We can't be complacent... We must continue to pursue all avenues available to achieve the universal abolition of the death penalty."

It is horrifying that the Islamic Republic of Iran has recorded over 1000 executions in 2025. Compounding this, only 11% are reported by official sources, making this a minimum figure.
