On World Day Against the Death Penalty, we submitted with 7 partners to the UN Universal Periodic Review on Singapore. Since March 2022: 37 executions (12 this year), nearly all for drug offences. Our submission highlights alarming practices & calls for a moratorium.

It is horrifying that the Islamic Republic of Iran has recorded over 1000 executions in 2025. Compounding this, only 11% are reported by official sources, making this a minimum figure. At least 50% are for drug-related offences, contrary to international law and standards. iranhr.net/en/articles/...

#Singapore granted its first clemency since 1998 - right after executing 3 people in 3 weeks for drug-related offences, in violation of international law & standards. Our statement with @amnesty.org @adpan.bsky.social & @harmreductionintl.bsky.social welcomes clemency & calls for full abolition.
