Am I the only one who is freaked out by this?

I'm often asked if I'm Irish. Still wondering why, but I've stopped being surprised about it.

Except today, it was an Irish person asking.

I can't believe I missed that Ling's Cars updated their website!

They've kept the archived version available to the public though. museum.lingscars.com

Have you considered that my Gmail account stays with me longer than any company email?

- Or that I ignore anything in my company inbox that isn't essential to the work I do for the company?

"If you work in a fear-driven organization that is low on trust, your performance will necessarily suffer. It’s a neurological fact. But if you work in a group that is high on trust and low on fear, then you can achieve at your best."

I think I can handle this...

Me: "My phone will be off for a month while I'm abroad. Can we do a video appointment instead?"

NHS coordinator: "Don't worry, we'll call you"

I admit it!!!

I'm a hyphen offender - as you can see all over my social media...

Don't worry, I *can* colour inside the lines when required.
From @mds.is: I don't know who needs to hear this, but...

I wasn't ready for Christmas stuff, but this Christmas-tree-themed flødebolle won me over.

Fascism works by identifying an out-group (Jews, blacks, Muslims, trans, gays, gypsies, migrants, refugees, disabled - it doesn't matter) and then blaming them for everything. That justifies sanctions against the out-group, and then against others.

Don't be a fascist.

How many people does it take to get your delivery from an Amazon locker??

Well, there's me. Not tall enough.
Another lady. Also not tall enough.
Third lady. Same.
Then one with an umbrella.

The winners: A duo, one on the shoulders of the other!

Thanks for the help, kind and creative strangers!

Cosplayers flooding town this afternoon - thanks for brightening my day! :)

I just saw a post on a different platform on how internal communications can't make your workplace any better. So true!

It's all about what actually happens, not what is communicated about what the company wants to (believe they) do.

Nothing wrong with a phone queue.

But don't let me wait 20+ minutes for your systems to just disconnect the call!

London too.

Bigger fish to fry though, here cycling is ALWAYS dangerous.

I miss cycling - not for sport or fun, but for safe and reliable transportation!
Absolute fantasy dream scenario would be Oslo having something like this.

People in their 2 tonne BMW EV can learn to cope with a few cm of snow (and drive more slowly and carefully)

If the platform is open now, what are the invite codes for?

Are they there solely because they haven't been taken out yet, or is it still easier to join with a code?

I never have days like that.

I have a good SAD lamp already...
Today is a writing day, so naturally I am procrastinating with true verve. Have nipped out for yoga, then popped into a coffee shop, and now I'm obsessively researching SAD lamps, despite knowing I will just buy the cheapest one from a brand name I vaguely recognise.

I didn't know there was a feature like that. Great to be reminded of I forget. Why isn't it on by default?

Unpopular opinion: Working from home isn't a benefit.

Regards, those who uprooted their life and moved to an overpriced big city shoebox to be where the jobs are.

I've seen a lot of "don't invite just anyone" on this platform. Often from the same people who talk about inclusion.

I understand the urge to close the circle, but what's the right balance between safeguarding and cliquey behaviour?

Imho we need an open platform with sound moderation.

So we're officially open!

I did invite myself a while back but couldn't come up with a clever first post at the time. Still can't. Thanks to those who followed me anyway! :)

Hoping to miss out on the trolls of elsewhere and instead see lots of constructive discussions, inspiration, and kindness!
