Supporting the famous red & blue from the Sunshine State ☀️🦅🟥🟦
He’s featured with England’s U21s. He clearly has talent and ability.

He needs to work on his intangibles. It’s from the neck up right now imo.

The worst thing to help him develop that would be his own supporters turning on him.

He hasn’t looked great, but it’s been a very limited sample size, and now we have a backup wingback - something we quite literally didn’t have for YEARS.

For his cost, it’s hard to say it’s a failed transfer. I think he’s come in to do exactly this.

Don’t think he warrants our negativity.

Very astute! Led in xA by some margin. Was fairly lightweight in duels, but keen to engage.

He needs to develop a short memory on the pitch. He’s too emotional and easily affected by mistakes.

No one will be perfect, he can’t let one small error linger & turn into multiple.

I think we’re saying the same thing, tbh.

He’s definitely lacking confidence, but I think that goes into his mentality.

The talent is clearly there.

One argument I won’t here is “he’s a winger playing in a wingerless system”

Sarr is a winger by trade also! Pino too

I’d agree, and i’d add on that I think he’s consistently showed a weak mentality.

Every time he’s played, there’s a moment where he makes a mistake & you physically see his body slump.

Good players forget quickly. He let one error zap his focus. It’s a trend.

But still young enough to fix it!

The less optimistic news: if Crystal Palace advance, they have a 50/50 chance of drawing Mainz - one of the other four clubs from Europe’s top 5 leagues - in the Round of 16.

The MORE optimistic news: here’s where Mainz currently sits in the Bundesliga..

Personally. I think what’s not sustainable is the “expected” not matching the “actual.”

Either things begin to click and we revert closer to the mean for goals.. or we stop creating at a high clip.

Haven’t been, and don’t see any official palace groups.. but try Collie’s

Ultimately, Crystal Palace did a bit more to win.

Guehi’s late goal via Pino’s corner was the 3rd match-winning or match-tying goal in the 85th minute or later this season.

Glasner has built a never-say-die attitude and an expectation to win.

Let’s hope it continues!

Thanks!

This was a match of *fine* margins - quite literally!

Both sides probably felt they did enough to win. Fulham are comfortable with patient short passing to break down lower blocks, and Palace are content being organized without the ball & taking chances via counters & set pieces

That corner sealed the match & gave Yeremy Pino his long overdue 1st assist

The Spaniard showed his creative spark - having the most shot involvements & contributing the most xG, while also showing defensive workrate

Remember, Pino is YOUNGER than Rak-Sakyi & just TWO WEEKS older than Devenny

Palace showed signs of fatigue in the 2nd half - noted by a lower defensive line & a far higher PPDA

However, Oliver Glasner’s subs were spot on

Jefferson Lerma provided steel in midfield, while Christantus Uche nearly won it late himself - while earning the matchwinning corner

On the opposite flank, Nathaniel Clyne put in a workmanlike shift. He didn’t blow anyone away, but he was positionally sound and free from egregious mistakes. For someone who has played ~700 minutes over 18 months, that should be lauded.

He also *nearly* won Palace a 1H penalty.

With Fulham stymying central passing AND Daniel Muñoz out with injury, there was an onus on Tyrick Mitchell to step up & contribute - which he did.

Mitchell led Palace in take-ons completed (75% success rate), duels won (& duel win rate) and successful deliveries into the box.
