In this study, the in-hospital mortality rate was 0.3% for elective major surgery, whereas among those who were inpatient preoperatively or undergoing nonelective procedures, it was nearly eightfold higher (2.3%). How can we intervene before clinical deterioration? #AnSky #MedSky
