I have (half) jokingly spoken with other media folks about reviving the early internet “webring” concept as one way to sidestep some of that. The more I consider it, the more I like the idea, but need to dedicate some time to figuring out what that looks like 😜

I think there are other less benign factors at play when it comes to the perceived desert of board game writing- youtube algorithms, the enshittification of google, gatekeeping at the primary points of entry to the hobby online…
