Do we wait till things get "bad" before taking simple precautions like masking? Until then do some of us actually have "time to get sick"? Do other epidemiologists mask to keep us from reaching that "epidemic threshold," or at least reduce the harms from airborne pathogen spread?

Thanks. My experience with Costco pharmacies is that they do a good job of billing insurance, including Medicare Part D. Unfortunately, CMS doesn't include some important preventive vaccines like Tdap and Shingrix in Part B.

A continuing failure as acute Covid and Long Covid deaths are ongoing.

Macedo & Lee in "In Covid's Wake" use Sweden's policy at the beginning of the pandemic as evidence that NPIs are ineffective. They claim that Sweden knew better than to close schools or impose masking.

Does the * on the Costco message indicate that you also need your Medicare Part D card if you are getting Shingrix or Tdap, which aren't covered by Part B?

I may be too late to ask, but thank you for your help to all of us!
Is there any justification for some vaccines to be covered by Medicare Part B & others by Part D?

You are more experienced than I am, & there are surely some decent MA plans, but even people who are "very healthy" now aren't guaranteed to remain so. Also, switching to Original Medicare from MA may prove unaffordable w/o an affordable Medigap plan, if you can get one.

Thank you every day for the VA nurses, doctors and support staff who provide health services @nationalnurses.bsky.social to our veterans.

They prefer NYTimes op-eds over the conclusions of the WHO's years-long commission on the issue.

Thank you for pointing out that Macedo's & Lee's revising history has costs in human lives.

The book should be rejected solely on its omission of air cleaning & CO2 monitoring as crucial NPIs and their total disregard of Long Covid disability and death.

Insidious. 2 political scientists who call themselves "progressives" spend 1 whole chapter & throughout the book on COVID origins, but 1 measly page on Long Covid. There is nothing about air cleaning or CO2 monitoring, though I'm sure they know it's airborne. Insidious revisionist bullshit.

Let's also remember the crucial historical role of the airlines on government policy 3 years ago, with Delta in the lead, in the name of you-do-you freedom, rather than protecting public health.

disregarding Long Covid. Once again Attia chooses to ignore SARS-CoV-2 infections & reinfections as among the “risks that we have the power to mitigate”.

Does eating more protein burn more calories?
Metabolizing dietary protein requires more energy than metabolizing other macronutrients, but is the effect large enough to matter?

Those of us who have watched years of WHO press briefings and Social Media Q&A sessions with Drs. Van Kerkhove & Mike Ryan, those of us who were hungry for the best evidence-based guidance on how to protect ourselves and one another, won't forget her insistence that "it's not airborne."

She's still "leading" as Interim Director of Epidemic and Pandemic Management.

Also, if so many voters didn't realize the inner sleeve was required, the County's instructions may not have been clear enough.
